We journeyed back home to Devon after a really special Christmas break. It was a slow drive with a brief car wobble. We felt that lovely sense of walking back through our own front door. The days that followed included wild winter seas and train trips. There were charity-shop finds and boat checks after rough weather. We finally made it to Torquay’s Bay of Lights. In between, there were productive mornings, needed resets, and small routines that helped us slow back down. We welcomed the New Year in Totnes with friends, games, and fish and chips. We had a surprise midnight moment watching the crowds in the Market Square. We eased into January with winter sunshine and seals in Brixham. There was home-cooked food, cosy evenings, and those little finishing touches that make a place truly feel like home.
