Video Diary | Narrowboat Vlog | Tues 20 April

What a day! We hadn’t long set off from Aylesbury Basin when Glenn dropped his phone in the canal. He tries to fish it out with a magnet but to no avail. We continue on our journey and the engine starts making a bad noise. One of the fan belts is slipping but Glenn was confident because it had a spare. Unfortunately the belt didn’t fit and we were saved by Liam and Charlie who went and brought a new one and dropped it off.

Once fitted we set off again, but decided not to do the whole flight.

We moored for the evening but the drama wasn’t over, Glenn jumped in the shower and it flooded because it was blocked. After unblocking the shower Glenn rings the bank to cancel his debit card (which had been in his phone case) and to organise the insurance claim for a replacement phone. Unfortunately the bank was swapping insurance providers and the phone for the insurance cover just rang.. and rang..and rang!
